… with the Audi
355.512 kilometres and fifteen years together!
The ‘wine mobile’ is part and parcel of my in-situ research for all my articles and books. In essence this personally enriching journey, has allowed ‘us’ to first live Wine Greece, before we share it with you through our words and photography. This poor vehicle has been a reliable and indispensable companion to me throughout my years of exploration in the Greek vineyard. It has seen me through the hundreds of thousands of kilometres and battled through a variety of terrain. In spite of ripped tyres, broken exhausts and more disasterous structural damage, on roads more suited to rally drivers and goats, it has of course made it through.
It has taken us to hard to reach locales, down obscure dead ends and to the tops of mountains in Crete and Cephalonia. It has ultimately enabled my photographer and I to capture one of a kind shots of the Greek people(s) and their diverse landscape. All those grapes all those islands. This may sound like a plea for a new car from Audi’s public relations department. Not really. Having just rebuilt the engine, let’s see how it goes….
